Author Visits

Our next visiting author will be Matt Bell, who will be leading a live book reading and be available to sign books on Tuesday, July 21, from 6pm to 8pm.

Matt Bell is a children’s book author and the father of nine very diverse children from all races and walks of life. He has a series of three children’s books about to be published (July, August and November). All three are funny, illustrated and deal with a particular social issue in which there is a conflict in the community and a resolution. They deal with topics such as segregation, access to services and bigotry.

The first story is called The Jellies and The Crunchers and deals with a community that is sharply divided on how to act, dress, think, and what to eat. There is a great conflict in the town and an even greater resolution led by a brave little girl who brings the community together.
